Ironclad Release Review: Straight to Sign

With Ironclad’s new Straight to Sign feature, the experience is similar to a native eSignature tool, allowing users to upload a document in Ironclad and place tags to send it out for signature without having to configure a workflow.

The intended use case: An Ironclad user has a document that has already been negotiated outside of the system and needs to send it out for signature. With Straight to Sign, they can upload the document and send it out for signature, skipping the workflow process entirely.

Before Straight to Sign, teams often had to:

  1. Configure bespoke workflows with workarounds to mimic a straight to sign experience;

  2. Utilize an eSignature tool, outside of the system, to facilitate signing;

  3. Configure bespoke workflows or use Smart Import to capture those executed agreements.

3 things to know:

1. By default, this functionality is not enabled for any users other than Administrators. If you want your users to utilize Straight to Sign, it needs to be enabled in group permissions. It’s important to consider your own contract processes and controls before enabling this for end users.

2. It only works with Ironclad Signature. It is currently not supported for eSignature integrations, such as, DocuSign, Adobe Sign, or Dropbox Sign.

3. If enabled, the UI to start a workflow is slightly different.
